    ROCKWiRED RADiO PROFiLES PRESENTS:
    SiNGER-SONGWRiTER GAYLE CLOUD
AND HER LATEST CD ‘MANY WATERS’

AUGUST 12, 2010 - Brilliant pop singer-songwriters always get compared to the likes of ELVIS COSTELLO or AIMEE MANN. The lyrics of these artists are literate, clever and universally praised for their insight and dissections of human relationships through song. Seattle-based singer-songwriter GAYLE CLOUD has all of these things going for her as well but there is one thing that makes CLOUD stand out from the rest - her lush and intricate world rhythm sound. Her latest release ‘MANY WATERS’ marks the second  time that CLOUD has teamed up with producer JOHN PAHMER following her previous CD ‘SECOND CHANCE’. Clearly this musical partnership thought it best to keep a good thing going. PAHMER provides the perfect percussive and melodic soundscape for CLOUD’s sensuous vocals to swoop and swirl over – namely on such wistful and whimsical numbers as BOMBAY, SNOW KEEPS FALLING and the incandescent GOLDEN WINGS.

  • “Many Waters” Album Review on Women’s Radio Network

“The masterful production (John Pahmer), artistry and songwriting of “Golden Wings” is reason enough to pick up a copy of Many Waters, and as the positive world-influenced vibrations ascend straight to the sky, Gayle’s ethereal and otherworldly vocals pierce the listener straight through the heart.”

As Many Waters moves forward, elements of Americana, Blues, Downtempo, Electronica and Pop manifest themselves into the listener’s stream of consciousness and then “Turn Around Loverboy” hits the unsuspecting listener with a bolt of lightning and thunder clap.  Organ, electric guitar, drum loops and a once-in-a-lifetime vocal offering from Gayle meld together in a grungy electronic melting pot that comes out sounding more like Massive Attack or Portishead.  This is *definitely* a track that you would hear on the BBC!  Think Trip-Hop + the “darker” side of love.

  • Singer brings world of music to Bellevue / Bellevue Reporter

Every musician dreams of captivating an audience. For long-time Seattle resident Gayle Cloud, that dream played out on the stages of Paris and New York.

Now, after the eight years she spent performing abroad, Cloud has returned home to showcase her singing and song-writing talents. Her new world music includes world, euro, jazz and pop influences.

These days, Cloud can be found performing at several Bellevue-based venues such as Vertigo Lounge and Grill and the Twisted Cork 0/8 Seafood Grill.

I was stunned when I came back to Bellevue after being gone for eight years, she said. Its an amazing metropolis. Bellevue is becoming a very happening place. It use to be so sleepy.
